Welcome to RESNA!

Welcome to RESNA, the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America.  We were started in 1979 and incorporated in 1980 as a 501(c)(3) organization.  Our mission is to support people with a common interest in technology and disability.  Therefore, our membership is multidisciplinary and international.  As an organization, we promote research and development, education, advocacy and the provision of assistive technology while at the same time supporting the individuals engaged in these activities.

Our membership consists of individuals, institutions, companies and other entities covering a range of disciplines.  These members include researchers, clinicians, suppliers, manufacturers, consumers and educators who work in nonprofit and for-profit settings.  All members are dedicated to promoting the exchange of ideas and information for the advancement of assistive technology.

NEWS AND HIGHLIGHTS

RESNA is offering the following courses for CEU credits:

August 9-10, 2008-  Fundamentals in Assistive Technology in Warm Springs, GA at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation.  This course is two days from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m each day.  1.4 CEUs  (Registration is still open)

September 11, 2008 -  Abilities Expo in Minneapolis, MN Convention Center.  Two full-day courses are being offered:

Electronic Aids for Daily Living: Features, Products and Assessment Strategies by Peggy Barker, MS, ATP. 

Power Mobility by Michelle Lange, OTR, ABDA, ATP
